Our Shining Star, Trisha Renae Peters Trisha Renae Cox was born on April 25th, 1977 in Springfield, Illinois. She came into this world with company, her twin sister Katherine Marie. Trisha may have been the smaller of the two, but she would remind us that she was the older twin. At birth she weighed just under 5 pounds, but grew quickly and was full of life!
Trisha’s family lived n Kansas City, Kansas; Thousand Oaks, California; and Phoenix, Arizona. Trisha always cherished her family, but had a special relationship with her twin sister. They kept very few secrets from each other, except maybe the location of a few Barbie heads.
Trisha took her first steps towards being a great chef by mixing a batch of cookies “by hand” as she was discovered up to her elbows in cookie dough.
When Trisha was required to write an essay on a leadership figure, she showed her unique outlook on life by choosing the one and only Papa Smurf.
When Trisha met Michael Ray Peters, she never dreamed the significance they would have in each other’s lives. After years of friendship with Mike, Trish moved to Colorado and was embraced by the Shields family. Trisha and Mike had started their life together.
Tragedy struck in January of 2001, with the loss of their daughter, Tonya Marie. Even though this event devastated both families and the community, it strengthened the bond between Mike and Trisha.
Michael proposed to Trisha on November 16th, 2003, a surprise so orchestrated that Trisha was the last to find out. We traveled back in time to a Speak Easy when they were married on June 26th, 2004.
Trisha referred to Michael as “Her King” and showed her love by warming up his car and scraping the ice from his windshield in the winter months.
The only competition Trisha had was with Mike’s ’56 Merc, a.k.a. “The Mistress.”
On October 18th, 2005, Trisha gave her King a Prince, Gauge Michael Peters. Trisha took great pride in caring for her friends and family. She went as far as to go to the fire department to find the safest place for Gauge in her car. That single act saved her Prince’s life on August 19th, 2008, the day Trisha went to be with our Father in Heaven.
Trisha will be remembered for her glowing smile, contagious laugh, outrageous jokes, her enthusiastic personality, and for all the lives she touched. |
